Icebergs serve as a reminder that good leadership and governance involves managing unseen issues.
Critically, icebergs also remind us we are custodians for the next generation and sustainability must be part of our corporate and individual DNA.
Our mission is to partner with organisations on improving sustainable governance through good leadership and strategy.
Rachel Baird has thirty years experience as a lawyer, senior executive and non executive director.
She draws on almost 30 years of Defence service along with experience in the resources sector, private legal practice, professional services, government, academia, not-for-profit, sport and membership associations.
Rachel believes it all starts and ends with honest conversations about leadership. This is where governance foundations are built for the success of the team, group and organisation.
I have seen a big improvement in the ability to have open and honest conversations and have felt much more supported in my role. I have also found that my ideas are being incorporated into projects and I am supported to pursue new ideas which has improved my job satisfaction. (Nov 2020)
Rachel 's the kind of leader everyone wants. She shares the vision, actively seeks your input and supports you to grow in your job. Her actions match her words and in doing so she sets a model for future leaders in the organisation. (Jan 2021)
During COVID we appreciated Rachel's leadership skills and her vision. She did not skip a beat, together the team worked out a plan and we all knew our role in executing and delivering. (Oct 2020)
During our time working together in 2017, I came to recognise Rachel’s integrity, decency and loyalty. She supported everyone to do their best and make the most of their opportunities. Rachel also takes the time to understand how the team works, and openly drives necessary change. (Dec 2020)
I had the pleasure of working with Rachel over a particularly challenging period. Aside from her ability to successfully lead a diverse team through a remote workplace, I found that she is particularly skilled in, and genuinely cares about, the personal and professional development of her colleagues by providing sound advice and encouragement. Rachel is a true innovator and has pushed me to achieve outcomes that I would otherwise have thought unattainable. (Feb 2021)
Rachel can provide to Corporate and Not for Profit Boards, specialised advisory services relating to critical risk, and governance issues. Rachel has demonstrated high standards of conduct and ethical principles and is not afraid to deal with tough issues to ensure corporate governance standards are met. (Jul, 2016)
